Careers

A small team, hired slowly.

We are not scaling headcount to a plan. We add people when there is genuinely more work than the people here can do well — which means openings are occasional and considered.

What it is like here

Research-heavy, low on theatre.

This is not a sales floor. There are no monthly targets posted on a wall, no leaderboard, and nobody is asked to push a scheme because its commission is attractive this quarter.

What there is: a lot of reading, a lot of careful writing, and a steady volume of unglamorous operational work that has to be done correctly because somebody’s retirement depends on it. The job rewards people who find satisfaction in getting details right and who are comfortable telling a client something they would rather not hear.

The practice is based in Ludhiana and the work is substantially in person, particularly in the first year. A good deal of what matters here is learned by sitting in on conversations, not from documentation.

A quiet, uncluttered working space

What we look for

Four things, in roughly this order.

Care with detail

A wrong folio number or a missed mandate date is not a small mistake in this business. People who double-check without being asked do well here.

Plain writing

If you cannot explain an exit load to someone’s parent in three sentences, you cannot do this job. Clarity matters more than vocabulary.

Comfort with saying no

Sometimes the right answer is “this is not suitable for you” or “do nothing”. That has to be sayable without discomfort.

Genuine curiosity

Regulation changes, categories get redefined, tax rules shift. Keeping up is part of the work rather than an extra.

Current openings

What we are hiring for right now.

The operational backbone of the practice: onboarding and KYC follow-through, transaction placement on BSE StAR MF and NSE NMF II, folio and mandate issues, and keeping client records accurate. You will deal directly with investors, AMCs and RTAs.

Suited to someone with 1–3 years in financial services operations, or a sharp graduate willing to learn the regulatory detail properly. NISM Series V-A certification is required within the first six months — we will support you through it if you do not already hold it.

Reading scheme documents, factsheets and portfolio disclosures, and turning them into notes a non-specialist can act on. You would also help write client reviews and the pieces published under Insights.

We care more about the quality of your writing than your background. Please include something you have written — any subject, as long as it was meant to be understood.

If neither role fits but you think you belong here, write anyway. Tell us what you would want to do and why this is the sort of place you would want to do it. We read every one of these, though we cannot always reply quickly.

How to apply.Send your CV and a short note — a few honest paragraphs, not a template cover letter — to invest@prenam.com with the role in the subject line. We acknowledge every application, and we will tell you plainly if there is no fit rather than leaving you to guess.

Prenam Asset Distribution LLP considers every application on merit. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, caste, disability, marital status or background, and we expect the same standard from everyone who works here.

Questions before applying?

Ask before you spend an evening on a cover letter.

If you want to know what the work actually involves day to day, just ask. We would rather have that conversation early.
